I keep noticing tabs for optical express, voda phone and others opening at the bottom of the screen when I haven't been to their site. How can I block them?
When I am on the net, I keep noticing websites which have opened a tab at the bottom of the screen, vodaphone, optical express etc advertising their wares, How can I block them?
This happened
Every time Firefox opened

Do you mean new small windows (popups)?
Tools->Options->Content->Block popup windows

no they are not small pop up windows. I have pop-up blocker . These only appear at the bottom of the screen. When I click on them they open a new page.
Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs. You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.
