Since updating to the latest version of Firefox, whenever I go online, I get the "Hooray. You updated..." and the request to send info for firefox improvement. I keep checking "no". How do I stop the firefox page from loading?

I recently updated to the latest Firefox version. Now, every time I go online, the Firefox "Hooray. You updated to the latest version..." page appears. At the top is the request for my useage information to be sent to Firefox. I check "no". (I check "no" every time this page appears. My Google home page also loads in a separate window behind the Firefox page. How do I get rid of this Firefox "Hooray" page??

Hi lisadiane55,

You should look at this article about that specific issue and the article Preferences not saved. These should give you all the information you need!

If that doesn't work:

  1. Type about:config in the address bar
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise if prompted
  3. In the Filter input field type startup
  4. Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
  5. Delete the text string and click OK
  6. Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.

Hopefully this helps!
