After a fresh install, pages load normally...for a while. Then, without any warning, some sites switch to text only (reddit, youtube, nba.com to name a few).
I've had no problems for the last few months with firefox, but just recently when I tried to open frequented visited websites, they've switched to a text-based format. I've re-installed Firefox a number of times, and the problem has gone away temporarily, but within a few hours of use and a few page visits, the text-based pages begin again.
I've immediately tried to open them in IE, and they've loaded perfectly. So I believe the problem to be with Firefox.
I've read that it could be a corrupt user account issue, but I've not been able to confirmed this.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.
Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings and that you allow pages to choose their colors in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
Thanks for the quick reply.
Here are 2 examples (youtube, and reddit respectively).
Any more advice would be great.
Not sure if this is relevant, but the problem temporarily fixed itself, but is now back. Could be an ad-on that I'm using? I'm trying to troubleshoot on my own, but without much luck.
Thanks in advance.

Looks that CSS files are missing and may possibly be blocked by a Firefox extension or security software (firewall).
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

You can also check the advanced settings in your security software (firewall, anti-virus).
It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
