I don't have the firefox box or homepage symbol, why
I wanted to change my homepage but when I went to do it I found that there was no home symbol on the rhs for me to drag the relevant website symbol to, on going to your support page I also then realised that there was no firefox box in the lh corner for me to click and select help options.I went to download your latest version from your website , it told me I had the latest version but I opted to download anyway. After the download was complete I found that nothing had changed. Why is this top page format different to that shown on the firefox help pages? At the moment, I can't change anything

Hi rogpauline, Our posts have been crossing.
You have customised Firefox already. I see you have Zen Search whatever that is and a Yahoo modification. You may not even have downloaded Firefox itself from the official Mozilla site it may be a modified version from Yahoo.
Personally I am not sure of the extent of the Yahoo modifcations but maybe that is part of the problem.
- Try disabling the Yahoo plugin.
Restart Firefox as that may be necessary for things to fully change.
Then see if you can get the home icon back. - See Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page
- You may even need to refer to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Corrupt_localstore.rdf
- An easy alternative is the Firefox Reset, which MAY help but read the article first and bookmark the homepage of any extensions that you may wish to reinstall, before you do the reset (Reset removes Firefox extensions ). However the reset does NOT remove plugins they need to be removed separately
- Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
- Disable or remove Add-ons
- Also look at this article if you need to manually uninstall any plugin

You can just set your home page under Options - General. If you don't have an orange Firefox button in the top left corner, then open the Tools menu on the menu bar. From there, click Options. In the Options window that opens, click General at the top left.
If you're missing the orange Firefox button in the top left corner, and the Home button on the right edge, reset the toolbars to the default:
- Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
- In the window that opens, click the Restore Default Set button.
- Click the Done button.
Firefox is supposed to be easy to customise. May be too easy and you accidentally removed the icon.
Right click in any free area of the toolbar, such as where the home icon used to be, and you get the options to customise and you should be able to drag the home icon back
Hi John, thanks for the help, I tried the customise option but there wasn't a homepage icon available to drag, the appearance and contents are different to that shown on the help page
Hi John, I tried the option feature but there is no homepage icon listed in the customise box?
Hi, thanks for the advice, I tried the customise option but there was no homepage icon that I could drag, I also tried the tools/options route you suggested and set default, I now have a firefox start-up page but still no homepage icon or firefox box showing?
