After I maximize FireFox and move mouse cursor to the top of the screen, I cannot use middle-click to close tabs, or left-click to switch tabs, or left-click to drag-and-drop tabs. None of the opened tabs gets closed, selected or grabbed. Instead nothing happens or the Firefox window gets grabbed. The orange FireFox button is also can not be clicked while the cursor is at the top px the screen.

I heard the rumor that Opera has option 'Add 1 px distance above tabs' in Settings. It would be marvelous to have this option in FireFox because I'm that one guy that grabs and closes tabs more often than moves the FireFox window.

I'm using FireFox 28.0 on Win 8.1 x64.

Maybe this add on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../extra-padding-when-maximize/ however it has a preliminary compatibility approval.

I haven't heard of this problem before, but it could be related to how Firefox resizes things in response to your system-wide zoom level. For example, out of the box, your Windows text size might be set to Medium - 125%. Do you recall how yours is set?

I don't have Windows 8.1 handy to look up the way to find that, but in Windows 7, you can right-click the desktop > Personalize and then in the left column click Display, to get to this setting.

Windows text size is default (small).
