I went onto 2 step verification after an authentication error message in my Gmail. Since then there are loading issues for different sections of my gmail account, i.e. switching between drafts and inbox. Each time I close the account and restart it, I get a verification code message even though I have ticked the box to say not to ask again on this computer.

This problem is not occurring in Safari.

This can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked (check the permissions on the about:permissions page).

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

You can inspect and manage the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab via these steps:

  • Click the "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) on the location bar
  • Click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info" with the Security tab selected
  • Go to the Permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > Permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.
