when i send an email from myaddress@yahoo.com (on the website portal), the sent mail does not show up in my thunderbird desktop application. i did setup a folder and selected in TB setting to keep a copy in the folder but it only works with emails sent directly from thunderbird.

my thunderbird is currently setup as pop3 account, i tried changing it to imap as i saw some threads about this issue but i wasnt able to get it to even send emails from thunderbird with that setup.

any help is greatly appreciated

POP email only connects to the Inbox on the server. You will never see other folders. If your email provider offers IMAP then the messages and folders are all on the server and you just access them with the email client and you can see any folder that you subscribe to.
