Something has repeatedly made my screen display block and recover while I have been running Firefox, and during these vicissitudes my Firefox has upgraded itself, and the bookmarks list is accessed not by a menu entry as was familair, but by an icon like a 3-storey house in the top right.

My bookmarks list has got muddled, with the main part duplicated, and the initial matter present several times. I want to export my bookmarks list to a file on my computer, then tidy it manually in a text-editor, then re-import it. But in this new Firefox I can find no way to import or export my bookmarks list, and no place to click to get help, and no place to click to find what version of Firefox I am running. I prefer the old format with a plain menu along the top. How do I export and import my bookmarks list? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ P.S. I have a firewall and antiviral program called BullGuard. Is BullGuard known to clash with Firefox?

I cannot even find how to bookmark the web page that I am viewing! How do I bookmark the page that I am viewing? What has happened????

I have now found by trial-and-error that clicking the star puts a bookmark in the list. But what happened to Firefox's help file, like comes as part of nearly everything that I have ever downloaded?

I need to know how to import a bookmarks list, because yesterday my Firefox had a crisis and wiped its cookies and bookmark list. Luckily I was able to upload my bookmark list from a copy that I had saved; but that ability seems to have disappeared.

What is a Firefox profile? Is it a list of my current cookies and bookmarks and font settings etc? How can I find a list of my profiles, and save my current setup to a profile file, and restore my setup to as in one of my profile files?

Hi, you have a lot of questions! Here are some articles that should help - Bookmarks in Firefox. And - Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data. And - Learn more about the design of the new Firefox version 29.

To export/import bookmarks: Open bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup.

You can bring up the Main menu bar temporarily by pressing Alt, or right click in the tab bar (but not on a tab) and tick/check Menu Bar if you want it to be there all the time.

The help button is at the bottom of the 3-bar menu (question mark).

Hope that helps!
