google earth view does not work on firefox

When looking up places using Google maps the Earth / Satellite view is distorted since a few days. The maps are fine, but the photographs look like LEGO in a crash. And now that I contact you and want to include a screenshot even the LEGO disappears. It is all black now. I have no problems viewing the Earth view using Safari.

I use an iMac late 2009 with Mac OS El Capitan 10.11.5 and the latest version of Firefox. What is wrong?

When looking up places using Google maps the Earth / Satellite view is distorted since a few days. The maps are fine, but the photographs look like LEGO in a crash. Hey got an idea for you, have you tried downloading Google Earth ? you won't need to go through firefox to use it then.
