Error message: The current operation on 'Inbox' did not succeed. The mail server for account [email address] responded: unable to read version line from folder 'Trash' in namespace 'nfs32/mailgb/mail_21/2a...

Not fixed by closing Tbird, deleting Trash and Trash.msf, then re-starting Tbird.

your problem is on the server. Did you log in using wen mail and empty the trash there?

Hi Matt - thanks for coming back to me. I logged into my email account on talktalk using Explorer and deleted some emails; just attempted to do that and it ignores my delete request. Do you think I should be in touch with talktalk support?

do you do it with Thunderbird closed? otherwise you might be trying to do it two ways at once. But if you can't delete in talktalk and Thunderbird is closed then the problem is their end so you will have to contact them

was on to talktalk support as your reply came through. Tried as per your recommendation - same as before. Talktalk are now on the case, and say they hope to fix it within 72 hours! Pleased they're not ambulance drivers :).

Thanks for your help, Matt.
