Each time I open thunderbird it says 'not responding' How do I unfreeze it? I tried to move a file from local folders to archives, probably too big to index . .

We received a message saying inbox full over quota and no more emails could be recived. So it seemed the local folders were adding to the problem with storage. I read online that I should move them from local folders to the archive so that they would stay indexed and we could carry on searching within them. I moved a folder from local storage to archived folders and the program has been frozen ever since, including in safe mode. I have copied the local folders and saved them in a folder on the desktop. Can I perhaps access profile and delete something? Thank you.

You have mentioned "local folders", "local storage" and "archived folders" but I can't make out which folders you're working with.

The Local Folders account in Thunderbird is entirely local and cannot give rise to "quota" issues. But your Archives folder - where is that? If that is in an account and actually residing on an IMAP mail server then it may well be the culprit.

Thank you When I looked at the amount of GB used with these global local folders it was some 55gb. There is the Inbox at the top of the tree and then the names of three email accounts. They have sub directories which are called global local folders. Between the two is a separate category called 'archivos' (archived folders) and I tried to move a big file from the 'Local Folder' to archived folders by dragging.
