SEND: not deleting attachments when message too large to send

more options

Tried to send a msg but my IP says the message is too large. So I deleted one of the attachments. Still too large Did it again... & again...

Then I noticed that the stated message size is NOT decreasing after I delete an attachment. Bug ???

Have you saved the message, say to drafts? after your delete?

After deleting the first attachment, the SEND failed again, and then both versions were in DRAFTS. So I edited the 2nd to create the 3rd, it failed to send, and now I had 3 msgs in drafts. etc etc.

It attempts to send, but the IP kicks it back & the total message size stated as being over the limit was the same every time.

In Drafts, enable the 'Size' column header. What is the size of each of the three draft emails?

Its been deleted. Biggest was 78 MB, one 30 something MB range, two much smaller. IP says limit is about 36 MB (it actually gives a 6 digit number of bytes - how OLD is that programming?). Said the entire message was 104 MB (probably after deleted the largest one). Deleting more didn't change that 104 MB figure. A blank email seems to run about 5 MB.
