I have a new iMac and was quite happy with the performance of Firefox prior to the 56 (64 bit) release. The same thing happens on my older iMac and two windows machines one Win 10 and the other Win 7...even filling this web form out, the spinning pinwheel comes and goes as I type, and I can out type the form at 10 wpm?

Going back to 55 does not work on either the old iMac nor the Win 7 machine, it auto loads the new release before I can disable automatic updates and such.

Using another browser on the new iMac shows a dramatic improvement and zero spinning pin wheels...something has changed badly for the 56 release.

Please advise.

Hello kd3pc, don't panic, we are gonna check what happens. First of all, try Firefox in safe mode. Is the problem still there?

it seems to be better in a short test...is it better to add back one add on at a time to see which one is not playing well with others??

You should try by managing your modules and remove those which are obsolete. Keeping obsolete modules can drastically decrease FF speed and add strange behaviors.
