Firefox window does not appear

After the new update, Firefox no longer functions - when I click to open it, it shows up in the taskbar, but the browser window itself does not appear on screen. When I hover the mouse arrow over the taskbar tab, the window popup shows a blank blue image. I've tried uninstalling (both via the control panel, and my manually deleting the Mozilla installation folder), but the problem persists. Re-installing an older version of Firefox allowed it to work again - but once I tried updating, the same problem returned. I run a Windows 10 Home edition, 64-bit OS.

This the best way to uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

I went through all the above steps but the problem persists. The browser windows just won't appear.
