I just saw on my Firefox that I have the History saved from October 2018. Even if I delete for the last hour, the last week or All, nothing changed, everything is still there, saved. I try to change some settings like to delete the history everytime I closed Firefox, but the history is always there. I tried to delete site by site on the History and I'm not able to delete anything. Firefox is up to date. Thank you

There is a problem with the database. First, we will create a backup of your bookmarks.

Open the Bookmarks Manager; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Export Bookmarks To HTML, and follow the prompts and save it to a HTML file.

If you had no problem with making the backup, do this; History and Bookmarks are stored in the places.sqlite file.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

The browser should now create a new places.sqlite file. This should have your bookmarks but no history.

Hi,

I removed the places.sqlite and after all of my history was deleted ! I import my bookmarks, everything is working fine, but now I try again to delete the history and it doesn't delete.

Should I remove Firefox and reinstall it?

I called for more help.

I suggest you create a backup of the current bookmarks;

Copy the file to another computer/profile. Repeat the instructions above, BUT select Import Bookmarks From HTML.
