New version just downloaded and now I can't access anything on the internet. Either I'm totally blocked or I have to give permission. How do I disable new security "disaster"? The blocking messages are all warnings that sites aren't okay - even GOOGLE is "bad". What the????

you're free to use whichever browser you want of course! (avast is in partnership with google, so they might gain from undermining the competition)

other users affected by the same avast-induced problem have reported that the same advice i was giving you, was successful in solving the issue: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/firefox?tagged=avast65&show=done
