Writing dots instead of space during writing

more options

Hi all, Is there a way to see dots instead of space when writing email? This helps a lot to write in Word. I was wondering if there was some addon to do so. I cannot find it anywhere though. Cheers Maxime

Hello there again Maxime.

I would like to know a little more about the subject. Can you be a little more specific?

Thanks for your quick reply! What I find very useful to write is to be able to see the hidden characters like spacing or paragraph. Is there in way to do it with thunderbird?

For example in the window for writing the previous sentence would be displayed :

What • I • find • very • useful • to • write • is • to • be • able • to • see • the hidden • characters • like • spacing • or • paragraph. ¶ Is • there • in • way • to • do • it • with • thunderbird? ¶

And then when I press send of course this display is not sent to the destinary.

Cheers

Hello there maxime

does the image remain as normal and also no service for sending with no information or whatever?

recipient has not received any mail or anything?

The dots and symbols that are not supposed to be in place disappear when emails are sent, but no further steps are taken to send the message if I may ask?

Can you please tell us the whole story in the right order?

Hello there Maxime

Okay my answer was different, I understand that you want visible characters to be present instead of reporting this as erroneous with our Thunderbird mail?

@День сумо Yes! There is no bug indeed. I wonder if there is such founctionnality

Hi there Maxime.

There is a way to set this. It would be about character encoding.

I'll look up some more for you in Thunderbird here.

please wait

Máxima Hello.

(I don't think it's exactly what you mean.)

if this is the case please contact us again, it could also be that the subject is just under the tools box on the computer and or thunderbird menu.

This would be a simpler solution to resolve this.

Cool! Altough this plugin is not available for my version of thunderbird 68.2

This function is identical to the "formatting marks" of word. Altought vim/emacs is more sexy to write in ;)

If this is possible, I expect it would use a userContent.css file that replaces spaces with dots. You might find help for this on the mozillazine forum.

Hello there maxime.

Yes, it seems a bit more hyroglyphic what is being requested.

Hello ther Maxime.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keyboard-shortcuts

It would be a shortcut key that should work with bullets in between in a text editor.(automatic function?).

The closest in our lists comes out on these two outdated add-ons.

maybe these can still be installed in a way but usage is advised to pay attention.

maybe there is a simpler way for this type of solution.

I will look further for you I have seen that it is used for formatting lists using a bullet (dot s).

But these are not in Thunderbird.

please stay online ...

greetings Firefox Volunteer.

Thanks! That would be a solution. It is weird that this function is not readily available. Actually you find that in any wysiwyg editor. Cheers!

hello there again. Maxime.

we would talk about placing a bullet in the middle of a word.

This certainly occurs outside the Thunderbird program especially in the layout of certain topics.

we would talk about a shortcut key for bullets (dots).

This can be found in programs that you may already use.

The question is whether this function can also be used in our text layout. ——

I saw that you like to write in a certain editor for mac.

It is possible that this function is intended for function use and this just to have an add-on developed in its own editor.

But this is not allowed with Thunderbird.

Hello there Maxime.

Yes you say it should be clearly present like in every wsy editor?

Then it should certainly be present with us, the solution could be these add-ons yes but these are out of date.

I will make another attempt for you but it will take some time.
