Lost My Previous Sessions opening a link from Outlook; OH NO!
I had 2 Firefox browsers that had a bunch of tabs open. I mistakenly clicked a link in Outlook that opened Firefox for that webpage. I quickly closed it from the toolbar, realizing I might lose all the other tabs, and I did lose them. I had at least 14 in one, 16 in another, and is there any way I can go back and retrieve them? Does Firefox keep any backups of open tabs so I can get to them? I had so many open, there's no way I can remember which ones they were, because I multitask like crazy. Now, I'm afraid to use it at all, just in case the more I do, the more the previous sessions will be lost. YIKES! I just moved, got my computer back up and running, and now this. I could chew my own arm off for this. Can anybody out there help me?

hello dr... (1) From inside Firefox, open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using either "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Troubleshooting Information (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter In the first table on the page, click the "Open Folder" button. This should launch a Windows Explorer window listing the various files and folders in your profile. (2) Leaving that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit, either: "3-bar" menu button > "power" button Exit (menu bar) File > Exit Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup. A file named sessionstore.jsonlz4 should appear in the folder. (3) Once Firefox has stopped updating things, while viewing the main level of the profile folder, right-click > Rename sessionstore.jsonlz4 to sessionstoreOLD.jsonlz4 If you see an older sessionstore.js or sessionstore.bak file, move it somewhere else or delete it. (4) Copy in the other file you want to restore, and rename it with the name appropriate for its format: Compressed file such as recovery.baklz4 => sessionstore.jsonlz4 Uncompressed file such as recovery.js => sessionstore.js (5) Start Firefox and it should read the swapped in sessionstore file and restore whatever was in the substitute file; if you do not have Firefox set to restore your previous windows and tabs automatically, use History > Restore Previous Session
THAT'S THE ONE! I don't know why the other person was talking about Outlook. That's just where I lost my previous sessions from. I did have to go into another folder to find the file from the actual previous session and copied it into the folder opened. It worked when I renamed it to that file.
I think I had it setup to open previous sessions, but now I can't remember where that setting is. Must've been an update that reset it. Can you point me in that direction, and OMG, THANK YOU!
