I know there is a button to "Execute filters in the following folder", but I want one filter to execute in one folder, or...

I would like a solution to know how to make 'X' filter I created execute on a specific folder, maybe a rule called "when receiving from custom folder: ______" as a condition.

You can choose a folder to move or copy to, but that is in the actions section and not as a condition.

Filters only run automatically on the Inbox. You can create a filter to act on a different folder, but it can only be run manually, and to make it not run on the Inbox, 'Getting New Mail' must be unchecked in the filter definition as to when it's run.

Yes, I think that works, but it also executes all in order, so I would have to deactivate all but the one I want, anyway. I'll look forward to a solution. Thank you for your help!

When you initially want o create a new filter, it automatically selects 'Apply filter when' and auto selects two options, 'Manually Run' and 'Getting new mail'.

But, I never run them manually, they are really set up to auto filter on new incoming mail.

So, I have deselected the option 'Manually Run' and thus set up to 'Apply filter when' 'Getting new mail'.

If you have created filters designed to run when getting new mail and do not run them manually, I suggest you check the filters and uncheck the 'Manually run' option.

However, I do have one filter that I set up to 'Apply filter when' and selected only 'Manually Run', which I tend to use only on a couple of other folders on occasions.

This means I do not need to uncheck a load of filters each time. In order to help me know at a glance which ones were set for 'Manually Run' only, the 'Filter Name' always starts with capitals MR.
