I assume that you use Sync as that is a possible reason that Firefox asks for the Primary/Master Password on startup. You can force a PP prompt by opening the about:logins page (Lockwise) if you do not want to wait.

Thank you. Yes, sync is active - and it's OK for me that FF asks for the PP on startup. This is a useful feature. But I don't want to sit and stare for seconds on the screen until finally the PP prompt appears. I want it to be there when FF opens. I don't keep my browser open all the time, I open it when I need it. Anyhow, thanks again for answering.

You can use Firefox although the PP Window hasn't opened yet. If you don't want to type in the PP, you can select the cancel button in the PP Window. This won't have any negative concequences. The only thing you can't use in this Firefox window is your saved website login data.

Thank you, too, for answering. I'm aware of that I can use FF without PP. But I want to use a PP and I don't want to wait until it finally pops up. So, I'm just not patient enough. Thanks to everybody!
