My Thunderbird email program no longer accepts my password for my Gmail account. It's the same password I use to log on to Firefox and I can open my Gmail from there so I know it's the right one. I've tried deleting the password from the save passwords window and I've made sure that I've updated to the latest Thunderbird version and I've restarted my computer after all of the previous things. I'm out of ideas. Help?

Gmail requires an OAUTH2 password for access from third party apps, such as Thunderbird or any other email client. The password you use on the web does not work. Set your account password access to OAUTH2 and leave password field blank and try again. I believe Google will prompt you to confirm third party access.
