Urgent - How to fix Thunderbird Incompatibility with Venture OS13 Upgrade???
URGENT! Please :) --- I upgraded to OS13 Ventura on my MacBook last night and suddenly when I try to open Thunderbird (91.13.0) it now notes:
“Thunderbird” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.
Not sure what to do as have over a decade of past emails, folders and important information that I need to access. Seems like it will open latest Thunderbird (102.4.2) but when I tried to import profile with settings folders and old emails it would not and notes "Import failed unexpectedly, more info may be available in the Error Console - though have no idea how to access error console or where that is.
Any suggestions as need to resolve asap!!!! Thanks so much for any insights, help and support!!!

Hi - the fix to this is actually quite simple and painless and I was lucky enough to find it in an internet search(thanks to the original poster). Just do the following - Open the new system settings called "Privacy & Security", go to "Allow apps that have been downloaded", select "App Store and verified developers". You will see a statement that Thunderbird is not verified. Check the button "Start anyway". Thunderbird has worked fine for that after doing this. Hope this helps!

""Thunderbird” is damaged and can’t be opened" refers to the application program, not your data. Your data should still be there.
Using version 102, do Help > (More) Troubleshooting info > about:profiles
What profile names are listed? Which profile name shows as being in use? (it will be indicated as "This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted.")

I got the same message and I binned it as suggested - before I thought of checking what others have done to resolve the issue. What now? Can I take it out of the trash and follow what Debbie has done? Thanks.
