Also If, for e.g. firefox is consuming 700MB of memory (with a lot of tabs opened), and if i close those tabs and leave just 2 or 3 opened, the memory usage does not drop and remains at the 700MB. I have the same sort of problem with 30-40 tabs, with memory usage growing until crash. It seems a lot worse after restarting from standby mode on Vista - it's often highly unresponsive for a while, then crashes.

I have a fair few plug-ins running, one of the benefits of Firefox.

Is their a way I can log memory use of parts of Firefox, particularly the plug-ins?
