At times when I start Firefox my settings/preferences gets restored to some old values, for eg: the presona gets changed to an old one which i have already uninstalled. This happens even if there was no crash earlier !!!

Firefox version 3.6.8 Operating system Windows XP Dell latitude D630

I use my laptop from home and office (Cisco VPN 5.0.04.0300). I face this issue mostly when I try start Firefox after connecting to VPN from home. I dont know it this has anything

to do with the issue.

Another thing I have noticed is when connecting from home (non VPN) I have to change the network settings to no proxy inorder to get firefox going. And when in VPN I have to use "Automatically detect settings".
