I logged in at sugarsync.com. Firefox remembered the password. Then I changed the password. Firefox remembered the old password and did not prompt to remember when I entered the new password. I deleted the password from Firefox preferences. I still have remember passwords checked and there are no exceptions. I have to keep entering the password myself. Firefox does not prompt to remember the password and does not remember the password. Firefox even used to fill in the email when I double-clicked the space to enter it but doesn't any more.

That site uses autocomplete=off for the email field.

If a site uses autocomplete="off" then look at this article for a bookmarklet to remove that autocomplete attribute and Firefox will offer to store the name and password.

The "Saved Password Editor" add-on does what I want. No waiting for a prompt to save the password. I go to the login page, then bring up saved passwords, select "new", hit "guess" and fill in the rest.
