My system prompted me to complete a FireFox upgrade this evening. Once completed, Firefox now crashes on opening. It will not open in SAFE mode either (holding SHIFT key down when launching). My Firefox crash log captures the crash ID listed below. I have scanned for malware/viruses with Malwarebytes and AVG 2012, system is clean. I dwonloaded and re-installed the newest Firefox, I have restored my system to earlier date (restore point from 2 days ago), all to no avail. Google Chrome and Internet explorer still work fine.

It solved the crash problem for me. HOWEVER, now all of my bookmarks are gone, missing in action! I use Xmarks plus FF Sync and nothing is working to restore the bookmarks. And yes, I updated RF but now RF is not showing up in my browser. I cannot find it anywere in the add ons options to try to see if it's enabled. I've tried reinstalling it but that didn't work either. Someone please help me with this.

Same with me. What's up with this?

Not sure, but it was definitely tied to the installation of that update. No problem whatsoever before, now I can't open Firefox at all... crashes immediately on launch and generates the "Mozilla Crash Reporter" Window every time, no exceptions. Anybody have a fix for this problem?

This seems to be caused by Roboform. Installing the latest version 7.6.2 of Roboform should solve this problem according to the Related Bug 691271.

Awesome!! That did indeed resolve the problem. Thanks so much for the assistance and the quick response.

I already have Roboform 7.6.2 and Firefox 8 still crashes - actually it just brings up a blank screen, as a crash report never comes up - have to force it to close, as it just sits there, doing nothing. Have reverted back to 7.0.1, as it works and is obviously stable - 8 is not.

You can restore your bookmarks from your "bookmarkbackups" folder automatically created by Firefox. It's in your user profile home directory :

C:\Documents and Settings\ProfileName\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\randomstring.default

Thank you. I will try that when I get home. However, I also cannot get RoboForm to display. I will be calling the RoboForm help number when I get home. Crossing my fingers.
