The current release for Firefox on Android is 10.0.4, is this what you are trying to update to? firefox 12 has been delayed until most likely Firefox 13, as there are lots of new features that are taking a bit longer to develop.

Hi Tyler, thanks for your response. I was wondering why I was stuck on 10.x. I thought the mobile releases were keeping up with the other platforms. Went to the market and ftp site and all I saw was 10.x. thanks.. I've installed 12.0b6 in the meantime to check it out.

BTW, where can I find status on the fennec/android releases?

You can try reading http://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/, which has some updates regarding Future Firefox releases.
