How do I sync my settings about which sites are allowed to save cookies on my computer? They don't seem to transfer between my computers.

It looks as though that's a pending project which hasn't been programmed yet.

Although there's no value in adding "me too" comments in the bug system, you can register and "vote" for a bug to be fixed if you like.

Although not a substitute for two-way sync, if you have most of the settings on one computer, you could copy the permissions.sqlite from your active settings folder on that computer to the other one. (Using a SQLite utility or add-on, there might also be a way to copy data from one to the other, but manual tinkering does entail some risk of corrupting the database.)

What's SQLite?

Hi BarbaraD, SQLite is a technology Firefox uses for storing frequently accessed data such as history, cookies, and bookmarks. The files have a standard format, so third party software also can read and edit them.

You can copy files manually if they aren't included in Firefox Sync.

As posted above, the cookies permissions and all other permissions are stored in the permissions.sqlite database file.
There is no need to open or inspect the file, just copy it to the Firefox Profile Folder on the other computer via an USB stick or other means.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
