I cannot access www.chase.com after updating Firefox to 20.0. I have seen on the forums that many users are having the same problem. Please advise!

In fact, I have updated Firefox on two different windows computers. The same problem. Before the update, the site "www.chase.com" can be easily loaded. After update to 20.0, I get a message "Problem loading page..connection to the server was reset while page was loading"

Me too .... I use it all the time but since v20 went in I have tried everything but no luck...I have tried the cache etc and the firewall and anti virus - safe mode - everything - nothing will let me connect to Chase...IE connects immediately.

I was having the same problem with version 20, and was finally able to log into Chase by switching user agents to Internet Explorer 8. You can easily do that with the "User Agent Switcher" add-on.

Finally I uninstalled v20 using the option to keep personal settings. Then I rebooted and downloaded firefox again. I logged into Chase and voila it worked - and my addons were still there Problem solved - but I will never know what it was - a faulty update perhaps ?

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

avast

nothing in there to indicate blocking

before or after the re-install

I am using Microsoft Essential. However, it has nothing to do Security software, firewall or anti virus. I have checked the settings everywhere. It is definitely a glitch somewhere. Maybe the problem is with the Chase Security Certificate which is not communicating well with v20.

Don't think so otherwise my re-install of firefox would have made no difference.. Same with anti virus etc---It has to be the version 20 update that had a glitch in it. Uninstalling firefox (while keeping settings) and then a new download only took 3 minutes - recommended. I know it's lazy not to get to the bottom of it - but it will solve the problem.

Instead of uninstalling, I waited for the update which came today (v20.01). After installing this update, I could access www.chase.com. So, it must have been something with v20.

We agree that the v 20 upgrade is suspicious..people have been executed on less convincing circumstantial evidence

Anyway, I will follow the same uninstall/reinstall plan if there are future problems..

firefox is really good for some of the stuff I do when downloading excel, but I am glad they don't make parachutes
