I want to reset Firefox to default to make my computer go faster. Everything is slow, the computer pauses to catch up with my typing and everything is generally slow. Firefox keeps crashing. Slow to open emails, everything.

I just want to make sure I don't lose my folders created on my comcast email if I reset my browser to default settings.

Firefox will not affect your web mail folders. Unless you are talkingabout open Firefox Tabs or Windows, You will lose them.

If your computer is slow when Firefox is not running Firefox may not be the cause of the problem. Prior to trying the reset it may help to try Firefox in its own safe mode

If Firefox is slow and and you wish to reset it first of of all read

You may wish to

  • close as many open windows and tabs as possible
  • bookmark any tabs left open
  • bookmark home sites of any Firefox extensions

If firefox crashes use about:crashes and paste a couple of recent Crash ID s into your next message

Sorry Nancy, maybe my last post was not clear.

In a PM you asked about the tabs. If you open more than one website, say by clicking on a few links Firefox may open those in a new Window or a new tab. Using tabs helps when you need more than one webpage easily available.

If you set-up Folders within your comcast email, and completely finish that procedure you may close Firefox and those folders should still exist. If you view your email account from Firefox or another browser even using another device your folders will still be there. Webmail folders like other content from the internet are on the web.

If you are doing something on your webmail and do not finish it you my lose it. For instance if you partially compose an email but do not send or save it you could lose that if you close Firefox or the Firefox tab or window with that information on it.
