Custom searches not synched: is there a way to do it?

Here is my problem. I go to a site which offers a search engine: say a translation web site (http://www.garzantilinguistica.it) I right click on the text box to make a search and choose "Add a keyword for this search...": Firefox asks me to save a bookmark and to choose a keyword to make searches using that "search engine". I then save this bookmark with keyword "gli". Now, if in the location bar I type "gli myword", that site opens with the search results for "myword". Great.

However, now I've another Firefox instance on another PC. The two instances are synched. After synchronization, I find the bookmark for garzantilinguistica.it search URL on the second PC, too, and this bookmark DOES have the gli keyword set. However, if I try to enter "gli myword" in the location bar of the second PC, Firefox does NOT make a search with garzantilinguistica.it for "myword", but rather searches for "gli myword" on Google. If I try to repeat the steps I did on the first PC, Firefox asks me to add the garzantilinguistica.it search URL as a bookmark for the second time (which is not desirable, since it's already there, coming from the synchronization).

So, is there a way to also synchronize custom searches information in all the synched Firefox instances?

Hi,

Unfortunately this feature is not included in Firefox at this point, but you can suggest it by following the instructions below.

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. (You'll need to be on the latest version of Firefox to submit feedback). Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.

Hope this helps!
