I know I am in wrong place talking about Thunderbird but Mozilla is a name I trust. When I want to ask a question in Thunderbird site, I had to make new account when I wanted to post the question it is asking to make another account or use Yahoo/Facebook/Twitter.

Because of all this kind of cheating and fake things I started using Mozilla products but it seems I was wrong.

Just enlighten why would two accounts are needed to post a question?

Thank you

Currently support.mozilla.org doesn't have a Thunderbird support section. Firefox, Firefox for Android, Firefox OS, and Webmaker are under the banner of support.mozilla.org .

This has been the support website for Thunderbird, since like 2007 or 2008.
https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/home
I don't use Thunderbird myself and have never done support for it, so I can't answer your question about GetSatisfaction. But I do know that Mozilla has used GetSatifaction in the past for Firefox support, and currently uses "social media" for support under the Army of Awesome campaign.

As far as having to register at MozillaMessaging, none of the Mozilla domains share registration information. Addons.Mozilla.Org, the Addons Support forum, Bugzilla, SUMO, and Quality all require a separate registration and login. Mozilla Persona will unify that process in the near future.

Another support forum for Thunderbird is here.
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=39
MozillaZine fora dates back to the days when the Mozilla Foundation was founded, and served as the semi-"official" support fora for all of Mozilla programs until this present SUMO forum was started.

Many of the long time users of Firefox, SeaMonkey, and Thunderbird still use MozillaZine for support or help out there.

Thunderbird is not supported here for some reason, but it is supported here => https://support.mozillamessaging.com/ (official)

^Note that for mozillaZine forums you will need to register an account there in order to post and that new members first post requires post approval due to spamming.

Hi, thank you for reply. You are right this is what I did, first created an account without any notification I got welcome confirmation message which I did.

Just one more stumbling block to using Thunderbird - one too many. If it's going to be too hard to find out how to use it, I might as well stick with the crappy Windows Live Mail.

To say that the products have separate support forums with separate logins is not telling me anything. The question is, WHY do it this way? It just makes it more difficult to get support.

And no, I don't use those social media logins and don't want to ever do so.

Great news! Any idea how soon this will happen, or whether registered users will get an email announcement?

I can answer how soon, because Im not one of the ones working on it.

About the email announcement, you will likely not recive one.
