when Firefox is closed, instead of the home page appearing, an unwanted web page appears. I then have to delete the unwanted web page. The problem however just keeps reappearing whenever Firefox is closed. This problem has just occurred during the previous 24 hours.

Which page do you get?

Do you mean the page that opens when you reopen Firefox after you have closed Firefox?

You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure that nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.

You can also check for suspicious extensions and extension that you haven't installed yourself.

After browsing the web, I then close Firefox & instead of my home page ( desktop ) appearing, an unwanted web page appears. I can then delete it but the next time I browse the web & close Firefox the unwanted web page appears again.
