Hello all, I had a quick question regarding Thunderbird. I set up an account (pop, not IMAP) and downloaded my mail. I noticed that the setting "Leave messages on server" was checked as well as "For at most 14 days" and "Until I delete them". These were checked by default, but my understanding is that this should no be the case? Also, does this mean that messages will be delete 14 days from the day Thunderbird PULLED the emails down or from the received date on the server?

I think that might actually be the default, and the 14 day cut-off probably is computed based on the received date in relation to the date that Thunderbird checks mail. Can you check your mailbox on the server using a webmail interface to confirm?

I have checked. There is mail older than 14 days on the server currently.

What happens depends on the mail server. Microsoft in their many flavors or hotmail and Gmail simply ignore delete commands by default and you have to modify their web settings to get mail to actually delete when Thunderbird issues a delete command.
