Since updating Firefox to version 29, Firefox always opens to an introductiory screen asking me to take a tour of the updates. How do I remove this screen and have Firefox to open to my home page?

Hi,

Yes, Aman is right. You must've set that page as the default.

If you still can't get it to change, please see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-fix-preferences-wont-save

Firefox has retained my home page setting. When Firefox starts it opens two tabs, the Firefox intro page and my home page.

Did you check for issues with the Preferences as this is the most likely cause?

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

You can also try to delete the compatibility.ini file in the Firefox profile folder to force Firefox to re-initialize the profile..

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
