Can I make the tabs darker and under the bookmark toolbar?

I can't read the tabs, they're too light. I also want them under the bookmark toolbar. Can I make these changes?

Chosen solution

Maybe look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to see if that can modify tab color in a way that looks better for you.

  • You can check out the settings of the CTR extension via its Preferences button on the "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" page.
  • You can find extra toolbar buttons and more toolbar settings in Customize (View > Toolbars > Customize)

Many other users also have asked about moving the tab bar, and there are two possible approaches:

(1) Custom Style Rule (for example, see: FF29 has deactivated moving tabs to bottom)

(2) Using an Add-on (for example, see How to make the new Firefox look like the old Firefox)

Regarding the tab color or text-to-background contrast, that can be modified in the same kinds of ways. Could you post a screen shot showing the problem? This article has tips on that: How do I create a screenshot of my problem?
