I'm using Firefox on my Android phone running Kitkat.

When clicking on various sites (mostly news and 'how to's), some videos start playing automatically.

I checked under Settings/Display and the 'Allow Autoplay' box is NOT checked - so videos should obviously not commence playing.

This is not a Facebook problem as I don't use Facebook.

Any help or suggestion gratefully received.

Cheers!

Chosen solution

There are some sites that auto start playback of the file using JavaScript. This is not currently blocked in the release version of Firefox. However in a development version of 41 we have blocked this behavior. This release is planed for the end of September.
