my laptop is running 39.0.3, all 3 of my Android devices are running the latest version of Firefox for Android. The laptop is running Win 7 Home Premium sp1; the 2 devices that sync okay are running Android 4.1.2 and 4.4.2 (phones, Galaxy S3 and S5 respectively); the problem device is also running Android 4.4.2 (tablet, Galaxy Tab 3 7" wifi only).

I've already tried deleting the Firefox account on the tablet, then uninstalling Firefox, reinstalling Firefox, re-associating the same account, and trying to sync. I've deleted bookmarks (although, if Sync works on 2 devices, I do not see why it doesn't work on the 3rd). I've looked for other suggestions here, but to be honest, if I need to manually copy from one of the phones to the tablet, that'd be fine with me, at this point.

TIA, Rick

minor update of information: I am now running FF browser for Android 40.0, having grabbed that version from the Play Store when I re-installed...odd how checking on the device itself, from within FF, for updates returns the message that no updates are available, when in fact, there were on my other 2 devices -- had to go thru the PLay Store to grab 40.0

From the Sync menu in the Firefox Settings, is there a warning that Auto sync must be turned on in order to sync? Second is to check under the list of accounts on the Android device if there is a Firefox Sync Deprecated or just Firefox Sync.

Last on the Desktop, does it say you are logged in if you visit accounts.firefox.com?

If all is set up and should be syncing, we may need to capture logs, but that won't be necessary if this jump start is successful.

Hi rrtid54, Thank you for your question, I understand for sync that the problem device is also running Android 4.4.2 (tablet, Galaxy Tab 3 7" wifi only).

I do know that they are investigating crashes for sync in 64bit mobile processors and your device may or may not have this hardware? (yes if it has the Intel Atom)

I do know on mobile phones that the Auto-Sync needs to be turned on in order for the data to sync. I can recommend checking the list of accounts in the Android settings to see if you can manually sync it by tapping "Sync Now".

Thank-you for responding, much appreciated.

The tablet does not have the Atom processor (ARMv7 Processor rev 0) Auto-sync is enabled on the tablet, no deprecated Firefox Sync account Yes, I am logged in using the same account, at accounts.firefox.com

I'll be happy to supply log files, if you can direct me how to do this.

Again, thanks for responding. Rick

Rick how to do this:

Fennec > Settings > Sync if you are using Fennec would need a screenshot of this page.

Second these are the instructions for how to collect and adb logcat durning a force sync from the Android Account sync settings:

You will need to have the android sdk installed and a usb cable connection. Long version of remote debugging: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/d.../Remote_Debugging

shobz is right about the Auto-Sync as well. Did the jump start work?

I'll work on the 2 links and post back, thanks again. Rick
