My options open in a tab, even with browser.preferences.inContent set to false. How do I fix this?

when I try to open browser options, it opens in a new tab, which I absolutely hate. I checked my configurations in about:config, and browser.preferences.inContent is set to false- which everywhere else says "set to false to turn tabbed options off". So since it's already false, how do I open options in a new window?

hi tripp, the browser.preferences.inContent preference was just in place temporarily for a transitional period. now that there were new features and settings going into preferences and old windowed interface was no longer maintained, its users would have missed out on them, so the support has been totally dropped in firefox 42.

if you still miss the old styling - the classic theme restorer addon from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ contains some tweaks to make the options-styling more familiar...
