I can't send an email - "STMP AUTH is required for message submission." How do I correct this?

I can receive emails, but when I try to send I get the message above. I've tried turning turning off the computer, but it doesn't change it. Normally, when the email is turned off, I have to enter a password, but I don't know where to put it. It isn't asking for it.

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is an Internet standard for electronic mail (email) transmission. Not used in a web browser.

You posted in the Firefox support fora queue. Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.

If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail" such as Yahoo!Mail or Gmail. You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

If your problem is with Thunderbird, let us know and we can move this thread to the Thunderbird support queue.

Oh, sorry. I'm almost totally ignorant when it comes to this stuff. My email is Mozilla-Thunderbird. You'll send my question where it needs to go? Thank you.
