I recently cleaned may macbook pro and when I rebooted thunderbird I lost most of may "inbox" and "sent"messages from March thru end of June.
I downloaded thunderbird 3/24/16 . I "cleaned" my macbook pro on 7/10. My "inbox" now only shows emails from 6/26/16 to present and my "sent" emails shows from 3/24/16 thru 3/29/16 then skips to 7/7/16 to present. Need to recapture lost emails. Thanks
Howie

went into my library and cleared files.
Perhaps you did delete your own mail. I hope your computer runs faster now (even though I doubt it.)
Sorry can't be more specific.
Too bad. I'm not going to speculate what you may have done.

Care to explain what "cleaned" means?
I went on you tube and followed some tutorials on how to clean MacBooks to make them run faster. From what i can remember I went into disk utility, earased .dmg files, cleared my cache , went into my library and cleared files. Sorry can't be more specific.
Thanks

It actually does run faster, and I didn't delete my email as it would have had to been deliberate to eliminate just a few months of emails only. anyway I appreciate your willingness to try an help me. Thank you very much
