Why does sent items not appear?
I have installed Thunderbird for e-mail and when i send an e-mail, it says "copying to sent messages folder" and then it just gets stuck and hangs.
There isn't a sent messages folder, just one folder saying inbox? How do I get the other folders to appear i.e. deleted items, sent items etc.

If you have created an imap mail account then it is referring to the server 'Sent' folder. Have you subscribed to see the imap 'Sent' folder? Right click on the imap mail account in FolderPane and select 'Subscribe' select the 'Sent' folder which may be called 'Sent Items' or 'sent Messages' or similar. click on 'subscribe' click on OK
Now make sure it is selected in Account Settings. Right click on the imap mail account in FolderPane and select 'Settings' If this is an imap gmail account then all sent emails will be auto put in the imap sent folder. So do not select 'Place a copy in'
But for most imap mail accounts: select 'Place a copy in' Select 'Other' and choose the Sent fodler on the imap mail account. click on OK
