My bookmarks and history disappeared and aren't working after a crash, but I'm still logged into other websites. What is going on?
So I recently had my Firefox (53.0.3 (64-bit) Mac) crash while I had a bunch of tabs open an there wasn't much space left on my computer. When I opened it up again all my bookmarks and history were gone, and Firefox wouldn't record new history. Autocomplete won't work in the address bar either. I checked on my profiles and there's just one, so a new profile wasn't created. My places.sqlite file is there, as is my bookmarkbackups folder. I typed the address of Facebook into my address bar and found out I'm still logged into it after the crash, and the same is true of other websites I'm logged into. That seems like the only thing from my profile I can access. I tried re-starting Firefox, but nothing changed. What should I do next to get my bookmarks and history working again?
Chosen solution
Sounds that the places.sqlite database file got corrupted.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

If the Places Maintenance extension can't repair the places.sqlite database then remove all places.sqlite file(s) in the Firefox profile folder to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
- keep a backup copy of places.sqlite in case a new places.sqlite database has to be created

Thanks! I changed the places.sqlite.corrupt file to places.sqlite and got everything back!
