This is really annoying. Safari play Trailers perfectly on the iMac. However Firefox shows only part of the video, video sometimes will not load. Disabled add-ons made no difference.

Firefox 59.0.2, iMac.

Here is a screen shot that shows the video playing in a small window. Also the setting can not be closed or changed so I could not turn off acceleration.

At least I was able to get some video to play. Firefox seems to have a lot of problems.

The only way to clear the setting is to close the video.

Hi, that setting is Flash. Nothing to do your issue I am sure since you have the latest version installed.

Please consider turning on send info to Mozilla from with in Firefox before posting a question. This helps us help you. I have no info from your system that would help see things that cause issues like inspecting your Video Card Drivers, knowing what extensions are installed which you do not mention ........

Is there a reason you did not provide the URL to the Video ? As the information so far provided tells us not much.

It was a Flash Video, why was it not a HTML5 Video as that is more the standard these days or was Flash forced as HTML5 was not working.  ??

VIDEO AUDIO

SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected

TEST''''is issue still there ?

And then you know that Refresh will be the next thing asked for you to do....

OK did what you suggested. Flash does not work right.

Setting freezes, video does not fill window, controls oversized, etc.

As I said works perfectly on Safari same Flash version installed.

It does not work in any mode. Try it if someone has a Direct TV account.

There is no way to send you a link to the video web page without logging into a Direct TV account.

Please try this 1st : https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html then : Flash Player Version: 29.0.0.140 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

If still issues please : try a Refresh but Note that this does more than uninstalling and re-installing does. Normal uninstalling does not remove some preferences which may have become corrupt. Please Refresh but do this 1st: Delete your Cookies and Cache and TEST.

then

TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...:

If is your Profile :

Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Issue is still there. Trailers play perfectly on Safari, but on Firefox Trailer tries to load and then Restart Video Player.

Direct TV states that Firefox Mac will not support playing their content.
