Lightning calendar notifications that stay on top of other applications?

more options

When I get a notification from my Lightning calendar, Thunderbird plays a sound and then displays a popup window with the notification. This would be fine, except that the popup window is not visible unless Thunderbird is active. In contrast, other applications use the Notification Center to display notifications that are visible regardless of which application is selected. How can I make Thunderbird show notifications that I'll actually see?

Oh, sorry, I didn't mention my operating system; my bad. I'm running macOS 10.11.6. I think the bug you linked is Windows-specific.

In any case, I will file a bug report. Thanks.
