In my firefox, in ubuntu, there is no star or other symbol that bookmarks the current page.

There is no 'bookmarks' section in the far right menu, nor any indication of how to do it in the bookmarks sidebar/toolbar. Left or right clicking on every object on screen brings no solution.

Please update to Firefox 61.0.1, then let me know if you can bookmark.

Please give instructions for upgrading to 16.0.1. It is far from obvious how to do it, and I couldn't get it done.

Try the Firefox version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.
