Message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent Mail) due to network or file access errors. [WORKAROUND] for gmail uncheck "place copy in"
I'm constantly getting the message "Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent Mail) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Pastas Locais/Sent Mail-xxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxx.com. It happens almost every time I send an email with attachments. Although the message said "Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent Mail)", the email sent can actually be found in my Sent Mail folder, so, why do I get this message? It is so annoying. Please help! Thank you.

Two things to consider: in the Copies & Folders section for a gmail account in Tools/Account Settings, uncheck 'Place a copy in' since gmail automatically copies sent messages to the Sent folder. Second, disable antivirus scanning of outgoing email, if it's in place.
Got it! Worked! Thank you.
For me it's a crazy error of Thunderbird.
History: First I installed German version of Thunderbird. But then I wanted the English version. I deleted the German version again.
Now I installed the English version and the error occurred with every mail, I had sent: not enough space on the disk.
Reason: The program did not find the Sent-Box for the messages.
Solution: With the new program almost all boxes had been in English, but not the Sent-Box: Still German "Gesendet". I tried every solution I found in the internet. But did not work.
But the only solution was: to rename the box to "Sent". So maybe other users have a similar history of the program error.
I have the same problem, but I'm using Spectrum, not Gmail. After the message is received, it creates another Sent messages folder with the email address! Also, my Drafts folder is full with Sent messages and others. I also tried to change the server settings, with no luck. Should I reinstall Thunderbird???

Reinstall will not help.
