Email on godaddy vps. One computer works fine, email sends immediately. 2nd computer, same SMTP settings, either does not send or sends after 20-30 second delay. Reinstalling Thunderbird did not help. Changing SMTP settings does not help. All I know is it is on my computer within Thunderbird. Turning off Windows Firewall does not help. Not clear what Malwarebytes does to outgoing email but Thunderbird is not listed in its applications list.

try turning off the anti virus. usually delays, mystery interment failures and odd hangs all trace back to the anti virus.

Turned off Malwarebytes first thing, didn't work. I don't think there are any other phantom malware/antivirus programs in my system but I'll look again.

One thing I tried that worked for me, was to UNinstall my anti-virus software completely, restart the PC, and then reload the anti-virus software.

I suspect there were some contaminated registry entries, but not sure, but it worked for me.

was that just malware bytes? Or was there another anti virus in the mix?

Uninstalled Malwarebytes, no change in Thunderbird. Now I am without antivirus.

Registry scan using cc cleaner fixed a number of issues, no fix to thunderbird problems. Windows Live Mail sends out email quickly on the affected accounts. Seems like I just need to replace Thunderbird on this computer.
