So a couple years back, Firefox only have the sync key that not connected to the account. I saved it in a private flash drive, thinking that the key connected with my email account. Now i log in again, with the same email address but the client didnt ask me for sync key, when i followed the instruction on the FAQ, its only generate the new sync key. What do i do with the old sync key? how to get all my stored data back, anyone know?

Thanks

Hmm, how far back??

The Firefox Sync service changed about five years ago -- there is an old FAQ: Firefox Sync upgrade - Frequently Asked Questions. If your Sync Key is from before the change, then it can't be used any more because that entire system is gone.

Hi arcthelac, if you created a new Firefox Account after the changeover, you would have had the opportunity to create a "Recovery key" for the account, but that would be different from the old Sync key. Unfortunately, if you don't have that and can't guess your password, you won't be able to access the data in the account.

Note that data stored in such an old account has likely expired or otherwise removed and won't be available anymore (Sync isn't meant as a backup). If you can't access the account then try to reset the password.
