Firefox/android signs in but always has the red 'Your account needs to be verified' box, and refuses to sync - despite working elsewhere.

Version: 68.8.0 Firefox for Android Release

May 5, 2020

Firefox account is verified and syncs on Linux (Debian, firefox esr). On android (actually android compat on sailfishos) the account can be signed into but is always flagged as requiring verification. Have purged app data to no avail. Tapping the box does not send a verification email. Not sure what else to try.

Hi

Is the verification email landing in a spam folder, either at your email account or in your email client (such as Thunderbird or Outlook)?

No. As far as I can tell none is ever generated as the account _is already verified_ : As mentioned above it works and syncs on all my laptops & logs in both here and on all devices.

Is this device where it is not working the only SailfishOS device that you are trying to connect to your Firefox Account?

I am thinking that there is something at an operating system level that is not quite supported for Firefox for Android.

Maybe but it is strange... It can see the account and even gets the user icon. And the account shows up as logged in, ie there's a registered session for it. Very frustrating.

I'll dig up my old sailfish device and try it there.

Okay, happy to look into this further as required.
